Autobiography
My name is Faith Jepkemei, a Master’s student in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management at Nelson Mandela African Institution of science and Technology with a research focus on the population genetics. My academic journey has been driven by a passion for wildlife conservation and a desire to understand how genetic diversity influences the resilience and survival of species. Through my studies, I have developed strong skills in ecological research and molecular genetics, which I am applying to tortoise populations.
Beyond academics, I see myself as a committed conservationist and a reliable team player who values collaboration and problem-solving. My goal is to contribute scientific knowledge that informs effective conservation strategies for tortoises and other vulnerable species. Ultimately, I aspire to bridge research and practice by applying population genetics to safeguard biodiversity and promote ecosystem sustainability for future generations
