Autobiography
I joined the Young lab as Postdoctoral researcher in August 2021 working on the evolution of biomechanical adaptations to the arboreal environment in wild primates. During this work I collected 2D and 3D video data on several species of catarrhines and strepsirrhines as well as measurements of the substrate the primates walk and leap on. My data collection was carried out in Kibale National Park, Uganda and Ranomafana, National Park in Madagascar. Before my research at NEOMED I earned a PhD at the University of Vienna, Austria, working with Leonida Fusani on the elaborate courtship display of golden collared manakins. In particular, I investigated which aspects of the male courtship are under strong selection pressure through female choice using an automated 3D tracking system to record their movements.
