Laura H. Jessup, PhD, is a forest ecologist and carbon accounting specialist with expertise at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, remote sensing, and carbon markets. She holds a PhD in Forestry and Natural Resources from Purdue University (2022), an MS in Biology from Eastern Kentucky University (2017), and a BA in Music & Audio Design from Alma College (2015). Her academic work has focused on ecological modeling, forest carbon dynamics, and the application of advanced statistical and geospatial methods to natural resource management, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed publications in outlets such as Oikos and Ecological Informatics.
Professionally, Dr. Jessup serves as Forest Carbon Specialist at Eden: People+Planet, where she leads technical baselines and reforestation strategy for large-scale restoration and conservation projects, including the Rubeho Mountains Carbon Project in Tanzania.
