Autobiography

I am a passionate researcher in infectious diseases, My Master’s Degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences have equipped me with both the theoretical understanding and the practical laboratory skills essential for investigating complex health challenges. My early training in biotechnology cultivated my curiosity about microorganisms and their interaction with human health, which naturally evolved into a passion for public health research, particularly in infectious diseases. Over the past five years, I have gained substantial experience working in infectious disease research, with a focus on molecular surveillance of pathogens of pandemic threats. This work has allowed me to contribute to understanding disease dynamics, genetic diversity, and transmission patterns of infectious agents that pose significant risks to global health security. In addition, I have participated in population-based surveys on malaria among school children, where I developed skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation within field-based public health research contexts. Beyond laboratory and field research, I have acquired extensive qualitative research experience in projects aimed at strengthening health systems. Through this work, I have explored the perspectives of healthcare workers, community members, and policymakers to better understand the barriers and facilitators of health service delivery. This qualitative dimension has enriched my appreciation for the human and systemic aspects of health, complementing my scientific training. My motivation as a researcher is driven by a strong belief that scientific evidence should translate into real-world health improvements. I am passionate about integrating molecular and qualitative research approaches to inform policies, strengthen health systems, and ultimately improve the quality of life for populations, particularly in resource-limited settings. My vision is to contribute to a resilient and equitable health system that can effectively respond to emerging health challenges and ensure the well-being of all people.
