Autobiography

I am a Wildlife Ecologist with a strong focus on GIS and Remote Sensing applications in wildlife conservation, biodiversity monitoring, and climate-change research. I hold a Degree in Wildlife Management from CAWM–Mweka and have five years of experience working in conservation, ecological fieldwork, and geospatial analysis. My research interest began through practical field exposure in Makao WMA, Maswa Game Reserve, and Kilimanjaro National Park, where I participated in wildlife censuses, habitat assessments, anti-poaching patrols, and ecological monitoring. These experiences strengthened my interest in understanding how land-use pressure and climate change affect wildlife habitats. In 2023, I completed a major research project titled: “Assessment of Land Use and Land Cover Change in Randilen WMA (2000–2020) and Trajectories for 2040.” This work improved my skills in remote sensing, spatial analysis, predictive modelling, and the use of geospatial tools for conservation planning. In 2025, I contributed to the Zoological Digitization Project of Avifauna and Flora of Mweka Museum, where I gained experience in biodiversity documentation, data organization, and digital archiving. I am technically skilled in QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, IDRISI Selva, Google Earth Pro, GPS, camera traps, spatial data processing, image classification, change detection, and habitat mapping. My goal is to continue advancing research that supports wildlife ecology, protected-area management, community-based conservation (WMAs), and climate-change adaptation. I am committed to producing practical, science-based information that strengthens conservation efforts in Tanzania.
