I have broad interests in conservation, population biology and animal behaviour, and conducts research in Tanzania, Scotland and the US that examines the consequences of herbivore movement, particularly migratory movements, on disease and species interactions, often relying on GPS telemetry and direct field observations. He leads field projects in Tanzania and works closely with a network of collaborators and students to address questions that improve outcomes for biodiversity.
