Autobiography

I was born in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, a region famous for its rich wildlife and landscapes. My passion for conservation was inspired by my older brother, John Arkanini Laltaika, who worked as a park ranger focusing on rhinos. I began my studies at Pasiansi Wildlife College, where I earned Basic and Technician certificates. I then continued my education at Mweka College, obtaining a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management. To further my expertise, I completed a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology at the University of Cape Town. My research centers on human-animal interactions, especially the mutualism between humans and honeyguides. This fascinating relationship, where honeyguides and people work together to find honey, is a major focus of my work. I am committed to enhancing the understanding of human-wildlife interactions and hope my research will contribute to better conservation practices and sustainable coexistence.
