Autobiography

My research interests lie in the field of conservation biology, and especially in the application of scientific methodologies for implementing effective management plans to prevent the extinction of threatened species. My current focus is the understanding of the spatial ecology and genetic structure of the secretarybird in East Africa. During my university career I was involved in projects regarding population genetics and genomics of birds and reptiles. I am also experienced with census methodologies, nest monitoring and tagging of large birds of prey. I have 2 years of experience in managing research and conservation projects in Tanzania. I quickly adapt to new environments and easily establish fruitful relationships with my work team, local authorities and stakeholders. I am the president of Eurafrica Conservation Projects - ODV, an Italian non-profit organisation for the conservation of animal biodiversity.
