Ellen is a dedicated conservation scientist. She hold Bachelor Degree in Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management MWEKA. She is currently working with Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute under Serengeti Lion Project, where she has gained an experience of surveying Lions using Spatially Explicitly Capture-Recapture methodology. She has been part of deploying Collars to Lions from which she can now monitor animals on ground. Her passion lies more on exploring the ecology of Mesopredators. She is currently the Project Initiator of Serengeti Caracal Project, which focuses on assessing the feeding ecology and habitat utilization of Caracals in the southern part of Serengeti Ecosystem. Through this project, she aims at contributing to the understanding and conservation of this elusive species within their natural habitat.
