Autobiography
I am a dedicated conservation scientist with over six years of experience in the human dimensions of wildlife conservation. My work focuses on applying community-based, participatory, and collaborative approaches to address complex conservation challenges. I have extensive knowledge and experience in managing programs aimed at mitigating human-wildlife conflicts, particularly human-carnivore and human-elephant conflicts, across various landscape in Tanzania. Being a Co-Founder and Fundraising Manager at TRCO, I have successfully secured multiple grants for research and conservation efforts in Tanzania i.e. Pangolin, Giraffee and Elephants. My contributions to conservation include pioneering an ecosystem payment model using community camera traps in village lands, actively engaging local communities in wildlife conservation in unprotected areas of the Ruaha landscape. I have also played a key role in capacity-building efforts, coordinating pangolin workshop training sessions for conservation stakeholders in areas where TRCO works. I coordinated the development of Tanzania’s first-ever Provisional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Pangolin Monitoring, Handling, and Releasing. Currently, I am facilitating meetings for the development of Tanzania’s National Action Plan for Pangolins, further strengthening conservation efforts for this threatened species.
