Autobiography

Ezra Mremi is a wildlife researcher from Tanzania with a deep focus on avian species, particularly owls, in the Eastern Arc Mountains. His research delves into mountain ecology, human-wildlife interactions, and conservation efforts for habitat-restricted and persecuted species. Ezra is leading a project on Sokoke scops owls and Usambara eagle owls in East Usambara Mountains forests, supported by grants from the Rufford Foundation and Conservation Leadership Program. Beyond fieldwork, he is dedicated to promoting gender equality in STEM education in Tanzania through his academic research. Ezra is also passionate about eco-tourism and sharing the wonders of Tanzania's wildlife through social media, aiming to inspire conservation and appreciation of the natural world.
