Autobiography

My name is Ardgard Essau Mwamgeni. I was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I pursued my primary education across two regions beginning in Dar es Salaam and later continuing in Njombe. I then completed both my Ordinary and Advanced secondary education in Songea. In 2018, I was admitted to the University of Dar es Salaam, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Science and Conservation. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a deep interest in herpetology the study of reptiles and amphibians. This passion led me to collaborate with experts in the field, and I have since worked as a research assistant for over three years. Through my dedication and field experience, I earned the opportunity to enroll in a Master’s program in Wildlife Ecology, where I am currently conducting research and working toward completing my degree. My work has primarily focused on amphibian data collection in the Eastern Arc Mountains, particularly in the Nguru and Uluguru ranges. My academic and professional journey so far has been guided by a strong commitment to biodiversity conservation and a deep fascination with the lesser-known species of Tanzania’s forests.
