Autobiography

Kezia Oola has been working with Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute since 2005, started as a personal secretary to the Director of Research whereby she gained knowledge and desire to be a researcher. Since 2019 she has been working as a Wildlife Research Assistant after pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies. She is stationed at Njiro Wildlife Research Center (Beekeeping Research Center). At the center she is mainly working on conducting training, improving branding and marketing of bee products. She has an experience in community development, field experience in Elephant Movement ecology, Human wildlife conflict mitigation, Community-based Wildlife Management and Data Collection. Through in-house and other donor-funded training, Kezia has attained skills in Biodiversity Research and on writing grant winning proposals. Being the Project Secretary at TAWIRI for the two projects; Afrique One Project (Endemic zoonotic diseases-diseases that are transmissible between animals and humans) and KTPIP (Kenya-Tanzania Power Interconnection Project), she has gained leadership skills involving team management, budgeting, supervision of field team composed of researchers and non-researchers. She has therefore developed extensive skills in teamwork.
