Autobiography

Oliver Höner is a senior scientist with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research. He has been co-directing the Ngorongoro Hyena Project, a long-term research project that has been studying the population of spotted hyenas inhabiting the Ngorongoro Crater (https://hyena-project.com/), since 1996 together with Dr Eve Davidian. He is particularly interested in human-carnivore conflict, population dynamics, dispersal, inbreeding, population and disease ecology, and the evolution of social behaviour and behavioural and evolutionary processes shaping the life history and fitness of group-living animals.
