Allan is field biologist with a background in wildlife research and conservation. He lectures in biodiversity and ecosystem management with expertise in molecular and quantitative ecology. He is broadly interested in the use of biological markers to understand single and multi-species dynamics within our ecosystems. Allan is also interested in leveraging the use of genomics for One Health research aimed at improving human welfare by tackling global disease challenges. He is currently involved in research that aims to understand genetic cues for olfactory performance in biosensors used in land mine, tuberculosis and illegal wildlife detection.
