Dr. Angela Richard Mwakatobe is a Principal Research Officer at Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI), Head Office, Arusha. Has a PhD on Biology Conservation from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway in 2013. She is a Head of Research Management and Coordination Section under the Research Development and Coordination Directorate. Dr. Mwakatobe has a long working experience on natural resource management in Tanzania since 1997 and being involved in a number of wildlife researches funded by local and international donors in Tanzania. Her research area is mainly focused on biodiversity conservation towards poverty reduction, social and cultural construction of the Human-wildlife Interactions in areas surrounding protected areas. She has contributed to global knowledge through publication of 15 papers in peer reviewed journals, 15 papers in conference proceedings and 3 book chapters.
