Autobiography

With a master’s degree in environmental sciences and a bachelor’s degree in international relations, I bring a rich blend of academic and professional experience at the science-policy interface. After graduating, my position at the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN, Swiss Confederation) allowed me to further develop my skills in project management, policy design, and communication in the field of sustainability. I have led diverse projects ranging from hazard communication to policy implementation, such as the Environmental Research Plan for 2025–2028 and the National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides. My academic work spans climate change research, environmental sciences, and lake hydrodynamics. My first paper, “Surface Heat Budget Variability of a Small Eutrophic Swiss Lake: Solar Brightening Versus Climate Change,” is ready for submission, and I plan to author a second paper based on our upcoming scientific expedition to Kilimanjaro. After my experience as a research assistant, I plan to start my PhD within the Gambia Mangrove Ecosystem Change (GAMEChange) research project. Furthermore, I have contributed to critical Arctic research projects, monitoring GHG concentrations, water quality, and collecting meteorological data. My research approach focuses on policy-relevant studies, using innovative methods to interpret complex interactions among climate, ecosystems, and environmental data. My goal is to generate insights that support sustainability and climate adaptation policies.**
