Autobiography

Dr. Corinne Kendall is the Curator of Conservation and Research at North Carolina Zoo, where she started working in 2014. She has been involved in wildlife research and conservation with a focus on East Africa for over fifteen years and has a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University and a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology from Columbia University. In her current role at the zoo, she manages and supports several international conservation programs and oversees the zoo’s on-site research. Her current research focuses on the intersection of animal behavior, movement, and conservation. She is most interested in real-time applications of animal movement to inform conservation, foraging ecology of vultures, and evaluation of community-based conservation. She manages the zoo’s community-based conservation education project in Uganda, studies vultures in several countries, and assists with the zoo’s anti-poaching initiatives. She is a member of the IUCN Vulture Specialist Group, Chair of the Association of Zoos and Aquarium’s Research and Technology Committee, and adjunct faculty at North Carolina State University.
