Autobiography

Trained as a Veterinarian, Dr. Eblate E Mjingo (Ph.D) is employed by TAWIRI as a Principal Research Officer and Wildlife Veterinarian, heading Wildlife Veterinary and Laboratory section. I am self motivated, creative and able to work independently with minimum supervision. My research interest has been on ecosystem health (diseases and ecology of pathogens in protected area and in human-wildlife interface), human-carnivore conflicts and of recently Conservation Genetics. I am involved in technical committee for African wild dogs re-introduction in the Serengeti ecosystem and task force for black rhino subpopulation rehabilitation in Tanzania in addition to other professional bodies. As a Ph.D holder, I have been doing several research projects as both principal investigator and co-investigator with good number of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and proceedings as a way to disseminate findings.
