Autobiography
Farida is currently a PhD student at Sokoine University of Agriculture, College of Forestry, Wildlife and Tourism, Department of of Wildlife Management. Her PhD research focus on assessment of population structure, distribution, reproductive biology and socio-ecological drivers of the critically endangered (Bagrus meridionalis) in Lake Nyasa. Farida is working as an assistant lecturer at Mbeya University of Science and Technology, Tanzania, where she is responsible for teaching biodiversity courses up to bachelor level, conducting researches and consultancies relating to biodiversity. She holds BSc Wildlife Management and MSc Ecosystems Science and Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture Tanzania. Farida also a Principal Investigator (PI) of two freshwater fish species conservation projects at Lake Nyasa, Tanzania and Co-PI of two conservation Projects at Rungwe mountains and Coastline, Tanzania. She is an African Fellow of Evolutionarily Distinct & Globally Endangered (EDGE) 2023-2025, hosted by Zoological Society of London (ZSL), EDGE program. Farida was also an intern of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for IHP Ecohydrology Program 2022/2023.
